Inspired by the tall ship Preussen, the Royal Clipper has the proud distinction of being the largest and only five-masted full-rigged sailing ship built since her predecessor was launched at the beginning of the last century.
With her complement of 42 sails, Royal Clipper is a splendid sight to behold. You might think she was an apparition from the grand age of sail, but Royal Clipper is as new as tomorrow, boasting state-of-the-art navigation systems and all the comfort of today.
For connoisseurs of sail cruising, the 134 metres Royal Clipper offers the ultimate sea-going experience, balancing the grandeur, adventure and tradition of sailing with the superb service, amenities and accommodations of a yacht. Royal Clipper carries just 227 guests in a refined style. A full 1760 square metres of open deck and three swimming pools create a wonderfully spacious and expansive outdoor environment.
Find your secret hideaway on one of the hidden balconies on either side of the bow. Or climb the mast (with safety harness provided) to one of the passenger look out 'crow's-nests', where you'll have the grandest view of all! Royal Clipper's interior spaces are just as dazzling.

The History of Star Clippers is above all the adventure of one man and his lifelong passion for the sea.
Mikael Krafft was born in Stockholm but grew up 20 km from the Swedish capital, near the site of one of the largest shipyards in the world. As a youngster he would listen spellbound while the old “sea dogs” who worked there would tell tales of the glorious Clippers, tall ships which dominated the oceans in years gone by. This early passion for the sea was to shape the whole course of his existence.
As he grew up, Mikael became an expert sailor, owning many different sailing boats. It was during an Atlantic crossing on board his yacht “Gloria” that he came up with the idea of building two tall ships inspired by the Clippers he dreamed of as a child. Thus, Star Flyer and Star Clipper were born, followed some years later by Royal Clipper. His dream was to recreate the legendary clippers that crossed the oceans in the 19th century and in doing so offer people the chance to experience the unique thrill of sailing aboard a Tall Ship.
Its legendary dream has become a reality.
